  1. Pray for government leaders to rely on God’s wisdom and uphold God’s truth …..Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
  2. Pray for government leaders to uphold the sanctity of marriage, and provide programs or resources to support marriages “Haven’t you read,” [Jesus] replied, “that at the beginning The Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother And be united to his wife, and the two will become one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” Matthew 19:4-6
  3. Pray for government leaders to uphold the sanctity of life, from conception to natural death. Pray for programs that help the vulnerable. For you created my inmost being; you knit Me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully And wonderfully made…. Psalm 139:13-14a
  4. Pray for leaders to have peace for God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power,
of love and of self-discipline.  2Timothy 1:7. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to
fear, but you received the spirit of sonship. Romans 8:15. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
  5. Pray that the Lord will give leaders wisdom and discernment. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. James 3:17-18 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he called you….. Ephesians 1:17-18
  6. Pray that leaders will make wise decisions towards those who are oppressed so I will come near to you for judgment. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice, but do not fear me,” says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3:5
  7. Pray that leaders will speak with honesty and integrity above all, my brothers (and sisters), do not swear – not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. Let your “Yes” be yes, and your “No,” no, or you will be condemned. James 5:12.
  8. Pray for God’s safety over leaders I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. I Timothy 2:1-2
  9. Pray that city leaders will desire what is good and beneficial for the city, for Tucson. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. Jeremiah 29:7
