4Tucson’s vision is to see a city aligned with God’s ways so that His peace and prosperity
is experienced by all generations.
Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. – God Almighty (Joshua 1:3)
It is my desire for every Christian’s heart in Tucson be stirred to see a city aligned with God’s ways so that His peace and prosperity are experienced by ALL GENERATIONS.
We at 4Tucson have a core belief that God desires to transform our city. This statement, along with others in our organizational values, is practiced as a core driver for our decision-making process as we engage our city’s most systemic issues. We, as a staff, know the work that we do heavily relies upon our relationship with God and His people. We seek His will, peace, and direction for our city.
This is why we invest time and people resources to understand why God desires to transform Tucson. Personally, I have asked myself – a former nomad (a person without a place to call home for most of my life), why do I now consider Tucson HOME? What is so special about this land? This internal question would not leave me until I began to search and understand the history of our city. Between November of 2022 and March 2023, our staff and I dove into what is the true Spiritual Heritage of Tucson. Why is there a constant pattern of decisions being made on behalf of the people in Tucson that keeps our city as an impoverished city with bleak job opportunities, low housing availability for all, educational struggles, and high crime rates that restrict the next generation from flourishing? For most of us in the Christian nonprofit and ministry area, we are aware that there is a deep spiritual stronghold in Tucson. As a team we have uncovered, identified, and named the stronghold that is hindering the prosperity of God from benefiting all of Tucson’s citizens.
Since March when we launched the 4Tucson Spiritual Heritage Bus Tour, we have taken nearly 70 Christians who have a desire to see this city transform for the Lord. The two-hour tour opened their spiritual eyes (Ayin) to what we are fighting in our city. 4Tucson was able to share with our guests that our fight is not with our elected officials, school boards, or those who seek to harm our youth and the unborn. These things are the result of what a certain deity wants to preserve and honor in Tucson that is opposite of the will of God. Our fight is against the unseen force that is warring against Tucson. On this tour we join with the Father, Holy Spirit, and Jesus in prayer.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 6:12.
God has revealed to our team four very specific areas in Tucson. He wants us to pray over with a posture of repentance and then a request for redemption. On Saturday, we are launching our Stirring Hearts 4 Tucson Drive with a morning and an afternoon bus tour where you will learn Tucson’s history like you have never heard it before. We will travel to four locations, hear the history and the spiritual significance of these location, and examine the “why” behind some of our city’s decisions we see today. Together, we will pray for God to redeem Tucson back into His hands.
