Challenges
The support of families is easy to give lip service to, but the real measure will be money spent and laws passed that support families. Strong arming politicians has not proven to have lasting results and should not be a strategy we employ. According to various reports, city leadership does not understand that "married people with children tend to be both successful and motivated, precisely the people who make economies go. They are twice as likely to be in the top 20% of income earners, according to the US Census, and their incomes have been rising considerably faster than the national average. (Wall Street Journal, November 27, 2007, Joel Kotkin, The Rise of Family-Friendly Cities) While we are not a political organization, 4 Tucson will encourage every believer to register to vote and engage in the city's future.
